NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : chris brown - love more (ft. nicki minaj)

Ooooo this is so my jam right now - ratchet as fudge, but we all love that.

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : mario - somebody else (ft. nicki minaj)

NEW SINGLE & REMIX SINGLE ARTWORK : ciara - i'm out (ft. nicki minaj) & body party (remix) (ft. future & b.o.b.)

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - high school (ft. lil wayne) (LQ)

A low quality version of Nicki's latest single artwork has appeared - featuring a behind the scenes shot from the up coming video.

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - freedom

Oh lord...

! updated ! NEW ALBUM ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pink friday : roman reloaded : the re-up

Ugh...

! updated ! NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - va va voom

I had posted an original buzz artwork for this single back in January - at that point it was the rumoured first single from 'Roman Reloaded', but then it turned up as a deluxe edition bonus track. Now it is being released as the final single before 'The Re-Up' era begins...

NEW ALBUM ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pink friday : roman reloaded : the re-up

UPDATE : OOOH, delightful, Nix has decided to bless us with the correct shaped version of the cover...ughh! See it here...

Please tell me that all visitors to simonsez-CD out there know why this artwork is an ugly-ass, hot, steaming pile of wasted pixels.

No? Then lemme school ya'.

1. It uses about a thousand fonts...none of which look any where near decent.

2. That blur effect used on said fonts. That. Blur. Effect. Ugh...

3. It is rectangle in shape. Unless Ms. Minaj is planning on redesigning the age-old artwork shape (which I highly doubt), I think a swift rejig of this disaster is in order...in fact scrap it completely and just go with a close up of her ass.

4. The image is from the 'I Am Your Leader' video - a) Using a video still for artwork is never good and b) THAT WAS A SINGLE FROM 'ROMAN RELOADED' WHICH ISN'T THIS ALBUM!!! AGGGGHHHH

I can't... I can't...

In fact, I can.

For someone with the amount of talent that Nicki has, and with that the major label backing and funds and teams of people surrounding her - why is no one stepping in and stopping her from releasing these weak and shameful excuses for album covers? It truly baffles me. I really do believe that she has no eye for design or branding (see: Her unveiling her ugly perfume bottle on Twitter, with an image that consisted of approx 4.5 pixels...low quality and nasty). It is a real shame - as in a world where image is everything, I believe that people will soon stop buying into her shoddy image or worse the legacy she leaves behind will be defined by the awful artwork she releases.

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : justin bieber - beauty and a beat (ft. nicki minaj)

Hmm...hoping this isn't official, as the use of old promo shots - and certainly old shots that have already been used as single artwork (i.e. Nicki's pic is from the 'Starships' cover) - is so lazy and reductive.

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - the boys (ft. cassie)

NEW REMIX SINGLE ARTWORK : alicia keys - girl on fire (inferno version) (ft. nicki minaj) & girl on fire (blue light version)

Ooh - this is interesting, so not only will 'Licia's new single have a "normal" version, but it will also be released in the form of an 'Inferno' version - featuring Nicki Minaj. Liking this multi-format approach, especially when it means more artworks for the single :P

UPDATE : So Alicia has a THIRD version of the single as well - the 'Blue Light' version - featuring a more chilled out sound and it's very own artwork!

NEW ALBUM ARTWORK : nicki minaj - ghetto barbie

Oh holy hell...Nicki's done it again :/ An ugly ass cover, leaving me speechless, with chills and in awe (for all the wrong reasons). This UK-only compilation features previously unreleased material from before 'Pink Friday' and the artwork is hella ugly! Why the hell have they used the same letter for "Nicki" as "Minaj" - has the harajuku barbie changed her name to Micki?...mess mess messsss!

p.s. And before you start filing it under fan-made, get used to it being real: it's on the compilation's amazon pre-order page...

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pound the alarm

bleurgh! this cover looks icky nicki :/ so glad it's going to be a single though.

NEW ALBUM BOOKLET & BACK COVER ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pink friday : roman reloaded

so with the impending release of nix's sophomore the album packaging has been leaked. i still despise the cover artwork (of the standard and the deluxe edition), but seeing these images in their full size makes me like them more...why did they ruin them with the awful design and type?! ANYWHO! get into them below :)

NEW DELUXE EDITION ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pink friday : roman reloaded (deluxe edition)

ARRRRRGHGHGHGHEHHHHH :/ :S what is it!!?? after thinking the standard edition was the worst...this thing rose from the fiery pits of hell...SEND IT BACK!! she's gone back to some street corner mixtape artwork with this one...the type, the image that barely resembles her, the layout...not good!
p.s. this is the hot mess that pops up once in a while that gives fans thoughts that anyone can create a cover...

NEW ALBUM ARTWORK : nicki minaj - pink friday : roman reloaded

WHAT IS IT?? KILL IT WITH FIRE!! errr...eww...nooo... *composes self* oh wow. well that's what i get for asking for "more from the album cover" when each single artwork was dull as dishwater...but nicki, child this is overkill :/ and not even in a kitschy, funny way (see: motorbike gaga)...it just looks plain awful, cheap 'n' nasty. a rainbow type. REALLY?

p.s. there appears to be AYY LOTTA love for this cover...am i alone in not being cool with it? :/

NEW SINGLE & REMIX SINGLE ARTWORK : david guetta - turn me on (ft. nicki minaj) (& remixes)

so i oddly never posted the 'turn me on' artwork...and after a brief search online i understand why, nowhere is using it! itunes, amazon and loads of other retailers are choosing to have the 'nothing but the beat' album cover as the artwork for the single :/ WELL ANYWHO! now the single is being released as a remix EP, so i thought i'd do a bumper post of both artworks haha. enjoy...

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - roman reloaded (ft. lil wayne)

another day, another nicki minaj "single"...even in LQ form this isn't awful to look at, hoping when a better quality version appears that it really shines :) and in HQ i'm still digging it :)...buuuuut, hoping for a lil something more (still) for the album's cover...the single artworks just haven't been hitting all the right spots.

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : nicki minaj - starships

nix is churning out the songs from 'roman reloaded'! the array of artwork reflects the mis-match sound of each song...there is no consistency whatsoever :/ i think 'starships' is meant to act as the first official single (not 'roman in moscow', 'silly hoe' or 'roman holiday'...confused?) from the new set and if it's cover is a taster for the album's artwork, then i feel let down! fingers crossed she has another 'pink friday' style left-of-centre cover up her sleeve...

NEW EP ARTWORK : madonna - superbowl xlvi performance (ft. nicki minaj, m.i.a., lmfao & cee-lo green)

someone seems to have given this performance an 8-star rating (check out the bottom of the cover...) and i'd have to agree, madge killed it :) what did you think of her moves and sanging?
