the lads' third single from their debut release...the "polaroid as cover artwork" has been done many a time, but it still manages to feel well done :) and at least they've kept the theme throughout all the singles artwork!

DISCOVERED : aura dione - geronimo

a danish singer/songwriter, whose folky pop has propelled her to the top of the charts in austria and germany, has recently released her second album which spawned the single 'geronimo'. the artwork really shone out to me (mainly because of that logo, loving how they've switched up the letterforms!), the colours and image really work as well.

so i've already posted about these AWESOME new box sets from riri and now more images have emerged of some of the contents and packaging! look below to see the officer's cap (included in both pieces) and the dee-lightful packaging of the 'navy officer's chest' (which will also include a key and lock)! so far the detailing is looking spot-on throughout both pieces (lots of incorporation of the "R" logo, which me likes) and i'm hoping the materials are top quality too...i'll obviously be posting a full report once my copy arrives, but for now check these outttt:

so earlier this week saw the unveiling of shontelle's latest jam 'ten to one' (which is awesomely loverly goodness!) and i thought the artwork would soon follow...it didn't. BUT moments ago, shonny announced via twitter that she was going to run a competition to allow fans to design the cover artwork!!! as in the real, official, used for the promo rounds and itunes and stuff, cover artwork! wow! amazing! dee-lightful! sooo, if you're up for it send all submissions to:

THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! - 20th / 26th november

1. (up two) one direction - up all night (limited yearbook edition)

with the release of the lads' debut album, there's been a lot of interest in the limited edition of the album (only available form their website). well done 1D on what i'm assuming will be tomorrows number one album...

2. (new entry) david guetta - without you (ft. usher) (the remixes)

a resurgence of interest into guetty's latest single with usher (especially the release of the single's remixes), really liked the artwork for this era! now hoping he releases 'turn me on' avec ms. minaj!

3. (down two) labrinth - earthquake (ft. tinie tempah)

slight slip in views of lab's latest smash...though still enough to get him into the most popular this week! looking forward to the next single and then album release :)

4. (new entry) cher lloyd - with ur love (ft. mike posner)

with the release of cher's album 'sticks + stones' this month, lots of people been looking out for her second single from her debut :) lots of people entering into her 'design a CD cover' competition as well!

5. (new entry) professor green - read all about it (ft. emeli sande)

and the third new entry this week, from pro green and ms. emeli sandé! loving this single (his most successful to date). really enjoyed the artwork for this era, a lot more sophisticated and put together than his first album. WELL DONE PROF'!

earlier this week i posted an updated preview video of the elusive 'aphrodite (the goddess edition). now it has surfaced that the beautiful edition will not only be housed in a hard case, but the whole thing will be held in a protective woven book bag (which has one of jon zhu's amazing illustrations stitched into it). i think they're adding more and more features to satisfy the restless fans awaiting the piece... for me, i can keep waiting, just knowing that someday i will have it in my hands!

love love LOVE this, kills be killing it right hurrr! the clashing colours, the understated collage around the type, the photo of natalie... LOVE! people can moan and bitch about how original they think she is or isn't, but you can't deny she holds her own visually, the fashion, the videos and (definitely) the artwork. sit back and enjoy :)

NEW DELUXE EDITION ARTWORK : david guetta - nothing but the beat (deluxe edition)

released at the end of november it will include the 2-disc standard edition PLUS a third 'party mix', a disc of the album's singles remixed! it is being listed as a boxset, so i'm thinking it's going to be a guetta special, big box with lots of trimmings :)

THIS IS WHAT WE WERE WAITING FOR!! so along with the standard and deluxe editions of the latest rih-lease, there will be two uber-limited (only 500 of each) packages. it seems as though she took notes from the questionnaire released a few months ago about an up-and-coming rihanna special edition, as a few of the items featured in the questions have emerged in these beee-autiful pieces! let's dive in and check them outtttt:

the less expensive of the two, the 'talk that talk (the rihanna navy box)':

set to include: an officer's hat (amazing!), a jewellery case (shaped as a water-mine, containing a pin holding three 'unique collectible charms'), a Navy patch and a deluxe edition of the 'talk that talk' album. you can see by the image (below) that the edition of the album has a new cover...is that just to add to the navy feel or will fans be treated to completely new artwork for the album?? loving the fact they are going all out with the navy feel! all housed in a specially designed box and individually numbered.

and now to the masterpiece of rihanna deluxe edition-ness that we have ever seen! welcome the 'talk that talk (navy officer's chest)'....take a moment...breathe...

and now look what it includes: the deluxe edition of the album, the officer's hat, navy patch and collectible charms (with pin) that is also included in 'the rihanna navy box', but also: an "r" logo usb drive, a flight pin, a luggage tag, a tabloid newspaper including never before seen images and an autographed Navy membership card. all of this will be housed in a specially designed chest packaging (with a special key to unlock the piece) and will be individually numbered.

PHEW! amazing. awesome. absolute Navy madness going on up in herrrr'! haha, really excited to see how these turn out in the flesh, hoping for a well crafted, intricate attention to detail piece a la gaga, rather then a haphazard, rushed deluxe piece a la minaj... we will see!

the single is said to be from his forthcoming sophomore album and will feature jennifer lopez and mick jagger (i know right??!!). you can see he's carrying on the peas futuristic look of 'the e.n.d.'/'the beginning' eras... especially with his new logo, bottom right. you like it?

NEW ALBUM ARTWORK : t-pain - revolver

hmmm... not completely sure how i feel about the look of this :/ i think what makes me uneasy is that when i first saw it, i had to double check it wasn't a fan made. i think that jump off point makes me question how strong it is... the visual just feels weak. kind of because of the "many sides of me", overused concept (everyone from queen latifah to p diddy has bled that one dry) and kind of because of the "meh" logos and type... especially after how strong the 'three ringz' artwork was! does it scream mixtape to anyone else?
