NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : ellie goulding - hanging on (ft. tinie tempah)

Ellie, gurrrl, be careful not to be looking too much like fellow blonde/electro-pop princess Little Boots (and her latest artworks) - but loving the new song, so we'll forgive you.

p.s. Is that a new logo I spy in the bottom left? Illuminati ish right thurrrr....

NEW SINGLE ARTWORK : rita ora - how we do (party) & r.i.p.

well these are dull as dishwater :/ for an artist who i'm so excited about, these covers give me nothing...from the type to the colours to the images of rita...it's all meh.

'how we do (party)' will serve as her US debut, 'r.i.p.' will be her first UK release.

even her logo is uninspired :/ what's going on up at roc nation HQ?! are they trying to keep her image as bland as possible to appeal to the most people?...

THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! - 22nd/28th january

1. (re entry) one direction - gotta be you
with one direction just about to embark on a US tour and a BRIT award nomination, there has been a lot more talk about their music (rather then relationships with older women...) and so that 1d reign is back in full force on the "most popular" chart!

2. (-) one direction - up all night (limited yearbook edition)
seriously...when will we be free from the boy's hold?!?!

3. (-) jessie j - who you are (japan edition)

4. (down three) taio cruz - troublemaker

5. (re entry) labrinth - earthquake (ft. tinie tempah)

and so labrinth climbs up the 'most popular' again, well done lab! i've seen a lot more of him in news and on blogs, assuming there is more interest with his debut album 'electronic earth' on the way...

and that was the "week's most popularrrrrrr" :)

THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! - 27th november/3rd december

1. (-) one direction - up all night (limited yearbook edition)

a lot of 1Ders are still checking for their favourite boys for another week (even making two entries on this week's 'most popular'!) and the album's done vurrry well in the real album charts also (placing number 2!). well done one direction :D

and so labrinth climbs up the 'most popular' again, well done lab and tinie! (still loving both the song and artwork...)

3. (down one) david guetta - without you (ft. usher) (the remixes)

although it's slipped down one place, lots of people still interested in seeing this remix artwork...and for another week i'm hoping that 'turn me on' is the next single...

4. (-) cher lloyd - with ur love (ft. mike posner)

the second non mover this week goes to cher lloyd! though this song and the album has been out a few weeks now, her "brats" are still looking her up! supposedly she's going to be doing a beyoncé with the next few song releases, filming multiple videos for different album tracks! (hoping she also does beyoncé by releasing new artwork for each as well...)

5. (new entry) one direction - up all night (hmv exclusive slipcases)

and now for the SECOND one direction entry this week, this time for the album's exclusive slipcases, featuring each individual member. well done to the lads, glad they're getting so much success...hoping with future releases they step up the visual side of things, but there's plenty o' time for that!

THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! - 20th / 26th november

1. (up two) one direction - up all night (limited yearbook edition)

with the release of the lads' debut album, there's been a lot of interest in the limited edition of the album (only available form their website). well done 1D on what i'm assuming will be tomorrows number one album...

2. (new entry) david guetta - without you (ft. usher) (the remixes)

a resurgence of interest into guetty's latest single with usher (especially the release of the single's remixes), really liked the artwork for this era! now hoping he releases 'turn me on' avec ms. minaj!

3. (down two) labrinth - earthquake (ft. tinie tempah)

slight slip in views of lab's latest smash...though still enough to get him into the most popular this week! looking forward to the next single and then album release :)

4. (new entry) cher lloyd - with ur love (ft. mike posner)

with the release of cher's album 'sticks + stones' this month, lots of people been looking out for her second single from her debut :) lots of people entering into her 'design a CD cover' competition as well!

5. (new entry) professor green - read all about it (ft. emeli sande)

and the third new entry this week, from pro green and ms. emeli sandé! loving this single (his most successful to date). really enjoyed the artwork for this era, a lot more sophisticated and put together than his first album. WELL DONE PROF'!

and that was this week's 'most popular!' :) see you next time!

THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! - 13th / 19th november

but! an updated version of the cover was uploaded to the song's itunes page...check out my thoughts on the changes here.

and that was this week's 'most popular!' :D

! new feature ! THE WEEK'S MOST POPULAR! 5th/12th november

so i've decided to create a new feature on simonsez-CD, posting a weekly rundown of the five most popular posts! showing you what everyone's having a good old look at :)

1. labrinth - 'earthquake (ft. tinie tempah)'

people are LOVING this artwork! as i said before, really feeling that logo and having such a solid visual in keeping with the song's video...like, like, like!

2. one direction - 'gotta be you'

a lot of 1Dersss making their way over to have a look at the boy's latest single artwork (and it's alternate cover, both below).

3. tinchy stryder - 'off the record'

STILLL waiting for the version of the cover with the added 'featuring calvin harris & burns' in hq!... avid artwork enthusiasts (like simonsez...) know why that's so important haha

4. rihanna - 'loud (couture edition)'

with her sixth studio release just around the corner, there has been talk (no pun intended :D) online that it'll be released in an uber-deluxe 'couture edition', just like the loverly 'loud' album was :) so lots of riri fans have been finding out what this whole 'couture' thing is all about...and landed on my special post!

5. rizzle kicks - 'stereo typical'

and finally, my newest favourite duo!...and judging by the post's popularity, a lot of others are loving them too :)

and that was the (first) 'week's most popular'! look forward to what will come out top next time :D
