NEW LIMITED EDITION ARTWORK : u2 - achtung baby (20th anniversary edition) (uber deluxe edition box set)

to mark the 20th anniversary of their vurrrrry successful seventh album, they are re-releasing it in several new editions...including the 'uber deluxe edition box set' (LOVE that collection of words :P)

the set will consist of a "magnetic puzzle tiled box containing 6 CDs including the original album, the follow up 'zooropa', b-sides and re-workings of previously unheard material recorded during the era. 4 DVDs including "from the sky down", "zoo tv", all the videos from the album and bonus material. also 5 7" vinyl singles in their original sleeves, 16 art prints, an 84-page hardback book, a copy of "propaganda" magazine, 4 badges, a sticker sheet and a pair of bono's trademark "the fly" sunglasses"....annnnnd breathe! haha, what a package! snaps for u2 :) will you be shelling out £268??

RANDOM : where's sugababes 'freedom' artwork?!?

well i've been running this blog for about 5 months now and in that time there has been no sugababes-related artwork news to post about (i'm a major sugababes fan and so this is greatly distressing haha!). their new era (sugababes album no. 8) has been on a steady promo trail for a month or so already now (an endorsement with nokia, a performance on "T4 on the beach", the leak of the single 'freedom', the release of 'freedom's video yesterday etc etc) but what i want to know is...where is 'freedom's artwork?!? their promotion so far has felt MAJORly sloppy and disjointed (the first live performance of 'freedom' happening before the studio version was released for example...not many could have been singing along in that crowd...), as a fan i worry that with a lot of critics ready to doubt them, they really can't tread wrong.

so i'm putting it out there....FREE 'FREEDOM'S ARTWORK!!

august 12th sees the release of the physical editions of kanye and jay's 'watch the throne' album. the deluxe edition artwork (designed by riccardo tisci of givenchy) has just been released and will include an 18 panel poster, displaying the albums lyrics, and also the disc will be printed onto a limited edition black disc :) have a gands!

LIMITED EDITION ARTWORK : björk - biophilia (the ultimate edition & the manual)

a really amazing album project by the undefinable björk! every song is going to have it's own app on the ipad, something that reflects the song's meaning/content. not just simply an accompanying visual, the app will allow the user to alter the song's structure, chords and overall affect the song's mix, through their actions on the ipad! last week she announced her physical editions for the piece as well (for those who enjoy technology as much as the rest of 'em...but still want ourselves some deluxeness!) come forward 'the ultimate edition'...

"presented in a lacquered and silkscreened oak-hinged lid case"

"the 'biophilia manual' is removed from the case by means of a ribbon pull (and is housed) along with 10 chrome-plated tuning forks, silkscreened on one face in 10 different colours, stamped at the back, and presented in a flocked tray. each case comes with an individually numbered certificate."

"each fork is adjusted to the tone of a 'biophilia' track, completing a whole octave in a 

non-conventional scale" 

WHOO! that was a mouthful haha! she's really stepping up this unique experience with this one...i mean seriously i don't even see gaga's next limited edition housing 10 tuning forks! but with a price tag of £500, i think pictures is the closest i'll be coming to it...

....BUTTT! for a more economical option, 'jörky is also releasing 'biophilia (the manual)':

"a 48-page, full-color, hardbound, cloth-covered, and thread-sewn book, tipped on lenticular panel to the front cover, with foil-blocked spine and back cover; the music, on CD, is housed in black uncoated board wallets"...so i still feel i'm getting some sort of luxury experience (maybe not an "ultimate" experience..but an experience all the same!)

both editions are released august 12th and will only be produced once.

...a successful japanese pop (j-pop) singer, i've been aware of her through several music blogs, and tried to follow her music and artwork! j-pop and k-pop (korean pop) artists have a different set up to more western artist's releases, they are known for releasing multiple mini albums (equivalent to an EP's length) throughout the year, meaning a lot more single releases...and with a lot more singles mean more artwork! so i bring you koda kumi's 50th single...'4 times'!
